RTFC intends to maintain the highest standards of ethical business practices and compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to our business.
Overall RTFC policy is set by a member-elected board of directors. Active and knowledgeable leaders of the telecom industry, these directors keep RTFC directly connected to its member-owners. Combining their industry background with prudent lending practices results in products that assure RTFC’s continued financial success and effectiveness for its members.
Directors are elected from each of five geographic districts and serve three-year terms. All members vote for all elected positions. Elections take place via mail balloting and at RTFC’s annual meeting where winners are announced. An eligible board candidate must be a director, trustee, officer or manager of an RTFC member.
RTFC is operated under a management agreement with the National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation (CFC). CFC is a cooperative with a long and storied history of success built on service, integrity and excellence. CFC follows all pertinent guidelines and regulations set forth by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the New York Stock Exchange and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. The CFC Code of Ethics establishes guidelines for ethical standards of business conduct and decision-making for interactions with co-workers, members, competitors, business partners, vendors and any other parties with whom CFC has a business relationship. It is expected that all parties who work or represent CFC on its behalf embrace the spirit of the CFC Code of Ethics.
The department of Corporate Compliance works with CFC employees at all levels to foster a corporate culture of integrity. In that role, Corporate Compliance is responsible for administration and interpretation of the Code of Ethics.
Suspected breaches of CFC’s ethics policy can be reported anonymously through the corporate compliance and ethics hotline, 866-293-2601. Alternately, you can send an e-mail.
The hotline provides an avenue for anyone to seek guidance regarding the code and its underlying policies, or to report allegations of wrongdoing either anonymously or confidentially.
If you become aware of any potential misconduct, you are strongly encouraged to contact Corporate Compliance so the matter can be reviewed and resolved.
