RTFC practices strong rural advocacy and education through its support of several industry organizations and foundations. As well, RTFC employees take an active part in supporting the community in which our headquarters is located and other worthy causes.
One of the seven cooperative principles is concern for community, and one way RTFC demonstrates its support for this principle is by aiding the important work of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Over the past 15 years, RTFC and its affiliates CFC and NCSC have raised almost $2 million to support research into finding a cure for blood-related cancers.
Most RTFC employees participate in a program called Adopt-A-Family (AAF) to help make a difference in the quality of life of our neighbors. With a mission to "help families help themselves," AAF assists families facing temporary financial challenges. The goal is to help the family overcome a threatening financial crisis, stabilize their budget, and remain safe and secure in their home.
